Farrell's eXtreme Bodyshaping Update #1

For a challenge, I decided to try a 10 week extreme bodyshaping class that started on July 20th. The class is 6 days a week, MWF is kickboxing cardio, TTS is bands weight training. Its called "Farrell's eXtreme Bodyshaping". My stats at the start:

1 mile run: 7:37
1 min pushups: 50
1 min situps : 38
Bodyfat%: 13.8

Will have tests again at the 5 week and 10 week points to see how everyone has improved. I am aiming to get my bodyfat to 6-7% by the end of week 10 (Sept 26th). I will update again with my stats at 5 weeks.

Lending Club Update #1

I continue to be a fan of Lending Club and plan on increasing my investing with the site. Too date, none of my 11 loans have EVER been late (much different from Prosper where almost 40% of my loans have DEFAULTED). Here are my lending parameters for Lending Club:

Rates: A - D
Credit Score: 660+
DTI Ratio: <10%
Delinquencies: 0
Funding status: 75% and higher
Loan Amount: $10,000 or less

These parameters have provided me with 0 defaults and a 12% return so far. I will update this blog over the course of 2009 with my lending progress.

Lending Club

My Lending Club loans continue to all be on time. This is encouraging for the idea of P2P Lending and bodes well for its future of the industry. Given the current credit crunch, it is something to consider as an alternative way to get a loan if you need one. I will continue with Lending Club and start putting more money back into it this year.

Well, my stock picks are not looking too good at the moment. Who would of thought the market would collapse like that. But, check back in a year or so and they may not look so bad...

In previous posts I have discussed prosper.com (Peer-to-Peer Lender) as a nice alternative to invest your money. Well, due to a number of my loans on Prosper defaulting over the last couple of months, I have decided I will no longer be investing in any loans on the site going forward. Their credit requirements are too lax and their are too many defaults among their borrowers.

If I do invest in Peer-to-Peer Lending in the future, I will be using lendingclub.com where the credit requirements are more strict. I have nine loans with lending club, and so far, for all of them, the borrowers have paid on time.

Stock Picks and Stock Picking

Been a long time since my last post (I have been lazy), but here are a couple of stock picks for Oct 2nd, 2008:

FNM 1.56
FRE 1.80

Both Fannie and Freddie are huge billion dollar companies (backed by the Federal Govt I might add) that I see getting back in their feet in the long-term. I will check back in a year and see how my picks did. I will post more picks in the future as I come across them.

I'm also working on putting together a stock picking program that I have been meaning to design and develop. I think given the current stock market conditions, its time as come. Will update in the coming weeks and months as I begin design and development.
